WTSR Operational Controller Module Course

Who This Is For:

You've completed the Core WTSR Training Course and you're ready to take on the Operational Controller role — or you already hold it and need the formal qualification to match.

This is the add-on module that gets you there.

What You'll Learn:

This half-day course gives you a clear understanding of the Operational Controller's duties under the WTSR — and the confidence to carry out the role correctly. By the end, you'll be able to:

Manage Safe Systems of Work

Understand your role in ensuring work is carried out safely under the WTSR framework.

Control the Transfer of Control Process

Know when and how to transfer control — and why it matters.

Authorise and Manage Work

Control work under Approved Written Procedures (AWPs), manage additional works, handle changes, and deal with people joining working parties mid-task.

Handle Documentation Properly

Clearance, cancellation, and surrender of AWPs. Safe custody of procedures and records.

Communicate Exceptions

Manage and communicate when things don't go to plan on a wind turbine generator.

Company-Specific Training:

We can add your company's specific scripts and processes to the course so it reflects your day-to-day practice — not just generic theory.

Assessment:

End-of-course test and practical assessment to confirm competence.

Duration

Half day, typically 4 hours.

You must have completed the Core WTSR Training Course before attending this module.
